Testing the Dependent Choice List



Steps:

  1. Hello, my name is John, and today we are discussing extending  applications using Application Composer.

  2. In this second of two related demos, I will show you how to test the dependent choice list field we created in the previous demo.

     

    The list we created includes different values that help users classify an issue in a trouble ticket, depending on the type of problem.

  3. To test, we navigate to the Trouble Ticket work area.

     

    Click the Navigator link.

  4. Click the Trouble Tickets link.

    Step 4
  5. And we edit an existing trouble ticket.

    Click the Abstract link.

  6. The Type for this ticket is Hardware, so let's see what's available for Area.

  7. Click the Area list.

    Step 7
  8. The values are just as we expected.

     

    This ticket is about a laptop, so let's select it.

    Click the Laptop list item.

  9. Now let's see what values are avaialble for software problems.

     

    Click the Type list.

  12. They are different, just as we expected.
