Creating Tasks Using a Workflow



Steps:

  1. Hello, my name is John, and today we are discussing customizing  applications using Application Composer.

  2. In this demo, I will show you how use the workflow to create a task reminding the opportunity sales team to follow up with the customer.

  3. This is the third in a series of demos that shows you how to create a workflow to update fields, create tasks, and send e-mails.

  4. To create a task in our workflow, we begin by clicking the Create button in the Task Creation region.

     

    Click the Create button.

  5. We are creating a task to ensure the sales team makes a follow-up call.

     

    Click in the Name field.

  6. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Follow-Up Call"
    .

  7. Let's enter a brief description in the task Subject field.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Subject field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Follow up with customer on budget available date"
    .

  8. Let's insert a variable so we get the customer name in the subject.

  12. Now let's enter a task description. I have it on my clipboard, so I will just paste it in.

     

    Press [Ctrl+V].

  13. We'll set the due date for this task three days after the budget becomes available.

     

    Click the Days list.

  18. The task start date is the date the budget becomes available.

  21. We will assign task ownership to the opportunity owner.

  22. And assign the task to the opportunity sales team.

  24. We select an optional task category.

  26. Let's set the priority as very high.
