Steps:
Hello, my name is John, and today we are talking about customizing sales account information in the customer and consumer UIs.
Step 1In this demo, I will show you how to create a long text field to capture sales account information.
In the Oracle Sales Cloud, sales accounts can be consumers or organizations you sell to. The application creates a sales account when you create either a person or an organization record with a sell-to address.
Step 2
This is the first of three demos that show you how to create a custom sales account field and display that field in the customer and consumer UIs.
In this example, we are adding a text field to capture suggested next actions on sales accounts.
Step 3To create the field we begin by navigating to Application Composer.
Click the Navigator link.
Step 4Click the Application Composer link.
Step 5The Sales Account object belongs to the Customer Center application.
Click the Application list.
Step 6Click the Customer Center list item.
Step 7Click the Expand button.
Step 8Click the Expand button.
Step 9To create fields, we select the Fields link.
Click the Fields link.
Step 10Notice that we are working in a sandbox. You should always do your customizations in a sandbox.
Step 11Let's create the field.
Click the Create a custom field button.
Step 12Selecting the Long Text option, makes it possible for users to add up to 32,000 characters.
Click the Long Text option.
Step 13Click the OK button.
Step 14We enter the field name users will see in the Display Label field.
Enter the desired information into the Display Label field. Enter
Now let's enter the field width.
Step 16You can show both standard and custom fields in simplified pages, mobile pages, and standard pages. Because we are exposing this field in simplified pages, we want to keep the width to a maximum of 15 to 20 characters.
Enter the desired information into the Display Width field. Enter
The application automatically defaults the internal name for us. This internal name, which is not displayed to users, must be unique for each object. NextStep's OK in our case, so we are done.
Step 18Click the Save and Close button.
Step 19Our new field is listed on the Fields page.
Step 20In this demo you learned how to create a long text field to capture additional sales account information in Application Composer.
You can find additional learning resources in your Oracle Fusion Help application, as well as in the Oracle Learning Library, and at Oracle University. Thank you.
