Hello, my name is John, and today we are talking about customizing sales account information in the customer and consumer UIs.
Step 1In this demo, I will show you how to display the custom sales account field in the simplified UI for customers and consumers.
Here we are displaying the Next Step text field we created in a related demo.
Step 2This is the second of three demos that show you how to create a custom field to capture additional sales account information and display that field in the customer and consumer UIs.
In this example, we are adding a text field, called Next Step, to capture suggested next actions for sales accounts.
Step 3To display the field, we begin by clicking the Pages link for the Sales Account object.
Click the Pages link.
Step 4We're adding the field to the simplified pages.
Click the Simplified Pages tab.
Step 5Let's add the field to the summary table first, that's the list of sales accounts. Let me show you.

This is the list I'm talking about.

Click the Edit Summary Table link.
Step 8Let's find the Next Step field.
Click the scrollbar box.
Step 9We can select it by double-clicking.
Double-click the Next Step list item.
Step 10Click the Save and Close button.
Step 11This link will let us display the field both on the Create Customer and Create Consumer pages. Let me show you where.
Step 12The new field will appear at the bottom of the Create Customer page.
Step 13And the Create Consumer page.
Step 14Let's add the field.
Click the Edit Creation Page link.
Step 15Notice that no account fields show by default.
Click the scrollbar box.
Step 16Double-click the Next Step list item.
Step 17Click the Save and Close button.
Step 18Now let's add the field to the Edit Customer and Edit Consumer pages. Let me show you where the field will appear.
Step 19On the Edit Customer page, it will appear here.
Step 20And here on the Edit Consumer page.

Click the Edit Summary Form link.

Step 23Double-click the Next Step list item.

Click the Save and Close button.
