Displaying the Sales Account Field in the Customer and Consumer Pages

Steps:

  1. Hello, my name is John, and today we are talking about customizing sales account information  in the customer and consumer UIs.

    Step 1
  2. In this demo, I will show you how to display the custom sales account field in the simplified UI for customers and consumers.

    Here we are displaying the Next Step text field we created in a related demo.

  3. This is the second of three demos that show you how to create a custom field to capture additional  sales account information and display that field in the customer and consumer UIs.

     

    In this example, we are adding a text field, called Next Step, to capture suggested next actions for sales accounts.

  4. To display the field, we begin by clicking the Pages link for the Sales Account object.

     

    Click the Pages link.

  5. We're adding the field to the simplified pages.

     

    Click the Simplified Pages tab.

  6. Let's add the field to the summary table first, that's the list of sales accounts. Let me show you.

  7. This is the list I'm talking about.

  8. Click the Edit Summary Table link.

  9. Let's find the Next Step field.

     

    Click the scrollbar box.

  10. We can select it by double-clicking.

     

    Double-click the Next Step list item.

  11. Click the Save and Close button.

  12. This  link will let us display the field both on the Create Customer and Create Consumer pages. Let me show you where.

  13. The  new field will appear at the bottom of the Create Customer page.

  15. Let's add the field.

     

    Click the Edit Creation Page link.

  16. Notice that no account fields show by default.

     

    Click the scrollbar box.

  17. Double-click the Next Step list item.

  19. Now let's add the field to the Edit Customer and Edit Consumer pages. Let me show you where the field will appear.

    Click the Edit Summary Form link.
