Creating a Large Deal Rule


You are the Marketing Operations Manager. You need a rule that assignes your qualified leads to a sales resource.

 

This is the third of a series of four lead assignment rules to show you how to set up matching candidate rules for assigning  leads based on the Sales Channel and the Deal Size.

 

The four rules are:

   1. Partner Sales Channel Rule

   2. Direct Sales Channel Rule

   3. Large Deal Rule

   4. Small Deal Rule


Steps:

  1. A rule set named Rule Based Lead Assignment has already been created. Note the several rules that are members of that set. You will add the new rule to the same rule set.

    Step 1
  2. This rule determines which leads are:

     

    - not assigned a Sales Channel,

    - are valued at greater than $1,000,000

     

    Because there is no defined Sales Channel and the Deal Size is more than $1,000,000, the lead is assigned to the internal sales resource, Gabrielle Lee.

    Step 2
  3. Add the new rule to your rule set.

     

    Click the Add Row button.

  4. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Large Deal Rule"
    .

  5. Enter the desired information into the Description field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Rule to assign leads over $1,000,000 to internal resources."
    .

    Step 5
  6. Add the conditions.

     

    Click the Add Row button.

  7. Click the Object list.

     

    Click the Sales Lead list item.

  8. Since you need the Sales Channel attribute, click the Attribute list and scroll down.

     

    Click the Sales Channel list item.

  9. Click the Operator Link.

     

    Click the Equals list item.

  10. Enter the desired information into the Value field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "NULL"
    .

  11. Enter the second condition.

     

    Click the Add Row button.

  12. This second condition determines if the value of the deal for this lead is greater than $1,000,000.

  13. Click the Object list.

     

    Click the Sales Lead list item.

  14. You need the attribute Deal Size.  Click the Attribute list and scroll down.

     

    Click the Deal Size list item.

  15. CLick the Operator list.

     

    Click the Greater Than or Equals list item.

  16. Enter the desired information into the Value field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "1000000"
    .

  17. Now make a condition to assign the lead to Gabrielle Lee.

  18. Click the Add Row button.

    Click the Sales Lead Resource list item.

    Click the Name list item.

  22. Enter the desired information into the Value field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Lee,Gabrielle"

This concludes the third lead assignment rule. 

 

The fourth rule is the Small Deal Rule.
