Personalizing the Sales Dashboard

You can personalize the Sales Dashboard to show items that you want to see each time you log in, such as your calendar and reports you access frequently.

In this demonstration, you will learn how to personalize your own view of the Sales Dashboard.

Steps:

  1. Click the Sales Dashboard link from the Navigator.

    Step 1
  2. Click the Personalization menu item.

    Step 2
  3. Click the Edit Current Page... list item.

    Step 3
  4. In your view of the dashboard, you want to create a page to display the business intelligence (BI) analytics reports that you're interested in.

Create a new tab. Click the Tab tab.

    Step 4
  5. Enter a name for the new tab.

Enter a valid value in the textbox field.

    Enter "Reports".

    Step 5
  6. Next, save the tab name.

Click the Rename this tab button.

    Step 6
  7. You want the layout of the page to be two columns.

    Click the Change layout button.

    Step 7
  8. You can choose any of the eight layouts shown in the layout icons.

A single or double column layout provides a wide enough view for reports.

    Click the two-column layout icon.

    Step 8
  9. With your page arranged in two columns, you're ready to add reports to your new Reports page.

    Click the Add Content button.

    Step 9
  10. Select the Customers at a Glance report.

Click the Add link next to the Customers at a Glance report.

    Step 10
  11. Now add the Leads at a Glance report.

Click the Add link next to the Leads at a Glance report.

    Step 11
  12. You are done adding reports for now.

    Click the Close button.

    Step 12
  13. You see that your reports have been added to the page.

Note that you could have added the Leads at a Glance report directly into the second column instead of adding it above the Customers at a Glance report.

In the next step, we'll see how to drag the lower report into the right column.

    Step 13
  14. Now you want to balance the page layout by placing the Customers at a Glance report in the second column.

Hover over the title of the Customers at a Glance report and drag it with your mouse to the right column.

    Step 14
  15. You've now moved the report to the second column.

    Step 15
  16. To end the editing process, click the Close button.
