This demonstration provides an overview of contract terms template features.
Steps:
This template is available for use in the Vision Operations business unit.
Step 1A template can be available only for one intent. A Sell intent means the template is used for customer contracts.
Step 2The status of a template determines what actions you can take.
Step 3Because this template is approved and available for contract authoring, you cannot edit it unless you create a new version.
Step 4Entering a template description
Step 5And instruction text can help contract authors search for and select the correct template.
Step 6Layout templates from Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher determine
the formatting of clauses, contract terms template previews, the contract
deviations report, and the contract itself.
Step 7Your selection here determines what contract authors see when they preview this contract terms template. The layout template for the printed contract is specified elsewhere, in the contract type.
Step 8You can use these fields to track templates that are translations of each other.
Step 9Using Contract Expert, you can set up business rules to:
• Apply this contract terms template to a contract automatically
• Insert additional clauses for contracts that require it
• Report contract deviations from corporate policies
Step 10If you want to use Contract Expert with the template, then you must enable it here.
Step 11The Default Section is the contract terms section where Contract Expert rules will insert any additional clauses. It only applies in cases where the clause itself does not specify a default section.
Step 12You can make the clauses inserted by Contract Expert mandatory so only authors with special privileges can delete them.
Step 13The Document Types region is where you specify where this template can be used.
Step 14This template is available for use in contracts created with the Software License and Service Agreement contract type.
Step 15Because the Default option is selected, the application automatically applies the contract terms from this template to contracts of this type.
Step 16If a Contract Expert rule recommends a different template, then the application ignores the default you set here.
Step 17If you did not specify this template as the default, it would not be applied automatically, but it would be available for selection by contract authors during authoring.
Step 18Click the Clauses tab.
Step 19The Clauses tab is where you add the sections and clauses that will be applied to the contract.
Step 20You add the sections and clauses here.
Step 21And preview them here.
Step 22The missing information in the contract terms is supplied from the contract automatically or entered by contract authors.
Step 23Click the Rules tab.
Step 24The Rules tab lists the Contract Expert rules that apply to this template.
Step 25And the questions that contract authors will have to answer.
Step 26Click the Translations tab.
Step 27This tab lists any templates related by translation as specified using the Translated From relationship on the General tab.
Step 28This concludes the demonstration of the different elements of a contract terms template in the Contract Terms library.
