Creating a Rule Based Lead Assignment Rule Set


You are the Marketing Operations Manager at InFusion. In the process of looking at leads and opportunitites for a sale, you qualify leads, score the leads on their probablity for a sale and rank them in order of probable success. Now you are ready to assign the lead to a resource, a salesperson.

 

Rule-based assignment of the qualification status helps to standardize the qualification process. There are several types of rules to determine which leads could lead to a sale and to assign them to the appropriate salesperson.

 

This demo will show you how to create a  Matching Candidate rule set.


Steps:

  1. Rules are organized into Rule Sets. You start to build rules by creating or opening a Rule Set.

     

    The rule set determines the type of rules to be built. This rule set is a Matching Candidate rule type . The work object is Sales Lead and the candidate object is Sales Lead Qualification Status.

    Step 1
  2. Click the Create button.

  3. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Rule Based Lead Assignment"
    .

  4. Click the Type list.

  5. Click the Matching candidate rule list item.

  6. Click the Work Object list.

  7. You want to select the Sales Lead, so you will need to scroll down.

     

    Click the scrollbar.

  10. Click the Sales Lead Resource list item.
