Creating Classification Categories and Codes


You are an Applications Administrator who wants to create a classification category, with classification codes, that specifies the customer support contracts that your company provides. You start at the Welcome page.


Steps:

  1. You want to find the link to the Setup and Maintenance page.

     

    Click the Navigator link.

  2. You open the Setup and Maintenance page so that you can find the Define Classifications task list.

     

    Click the Setup and Maintenance link.

  3. Click the All Tasks link.

  4. You search for the Define Classifications task list.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "%define classification%"

  5. Click the Search button.

  6. Open the Manage Classification Categories page to start creating your classification category.

     

    Click the Go to Task button.

  7. You want to create a classification category that will contain the customer support contracts that your company provides.

     

    Click the Create button.

  8. Create the classification category abbreviated name.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Classification Category field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "CUSTOMER_SUPPORT_CONTRACT"

  9. Create a full name for the classification category.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Class Category Meaning field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Customer Support Contract"
    .

  10. You decide to allow both the parent classification code and its child classification codes to be assigned to an entity.

     

    Click the Allow Parent Code Assignment option.

  11. You also want to be able to assign more than one customer support contract classification code to a single entity.

     

    Click the Allow Multiple Class Code Assignment option.

  12. Now you can restrict the assignment of the customer support contract classification codes.

     

    Click the Add Row button.

  13. You decide to only allow the classification codes to be assigned to organization parties.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Table Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "HZ_PARTIES"

  14. Enter the desired information into the Where Clause field. Enter

     e.g.
     "WHERE PARTY_TYPE = 'ORGANIZATION'"

  15. You are ready to enter classification codes for the customer support contracts your company provides.

     

    Click the Create Classification Codes button.

  16. Start to create your classification codes.

     

    Click the Create button.

  17. Choose the default data source. The data source tells the trees framework which tree structure to use.

     

    Click the Party Classification Hierarchy list item.

  19. You create a classification code for the Customer Support Contract classification category. Create an abbreviated name.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Classification Code field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "PREMIER_SUPPORT"

  20. Enter the full name for the classification code.

     

    Enter the desired information into the Meaning field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Premier Support Contracts"

  21. Click the Save button.

  22. Complete the creation of the classification code.

     

    Click the OK button.

  23. You decide to save the classification code and the classification category. You can enter additional classification codes whenever required.
