This demonstration discusses the differences between the two kinds of nonstandard clauses: a nonstandard clause you create by editing a standard clause and a nonstandard clause that you create from scratch.
Steps:
Navigate to the contract terms in the contract.
Step 1This contract has two nonstandard clauses.
Step 2In the contract terms they are distinguished by a special icon.
Step 3Let's examine both of these clauses.
Step 4Select the first nonstandard clause.
Click the Technical Support list item.
Step 5You cannot see what makes this clause nonstandard in the preview, but you can in the Edit Clause window.
Step 6Click the Edit Clause button.
Step 7The application displays the clause in the Edit Clause window
Step 8This particular nonstandard clause was created by editing a standard clause.
You can tell because it includes the Compare with Standard and Revert to Standard buttons.
Step 9If you want to revert the clause to the original standard clause, you can do so using the Revert to Standard button.
Step 10To see what was changed, compare the current clause text with the original.
Click the Compare with Standard button.
Step 11The application displays the clause text in the Compare Clause text window.
Step 12You can view any edits to the standard clause in the Comparison Results region.
Step 13No edits here, so scroll down to see the rest of the text.
Click the Comparison Results scrollbar.
Step 14You can see that the amount of renewal increase was changed from six percent to four percent.
Step 15Click the Done button.
Step 16Now let's examine the second nonstandard clause.
