Making the Custom Field Available for Import

In this demonstration, we'll make the custom field available for import.  This is a very short but critical step.

This is the fifth in a series of demonstrations that show how to create a custom field for importing customer information.

These demonstrations cover:

- Creating a custom field

- Exposing the custom field in application pages

- Testing the custom field

- Publishing the custom field from the sandbox

- Making the custom field available for import

- Viewing the custom field in the import activity mapping

Steps:

1. To make the custom field available for import, we'll navigate back to Application Composer.

   Step 1

2. Click the Navigator link.

   Step 2

3. Click the Application Composer link.

   Step 3

4. Our field is on an opportunity, so we'll select the sales application.

   Step 4

5. Click the Application list.

   Step 5

6. Click the Sales list item.

   Step 6

7. In the Common Setup section,  we select Import and Export.

   Step 7

8. Click the Import and Export link.

   Step 8

9. Click Generate and you are done. That's all there is to it.

   Step 9

10. Click the Generate button.
