Creating Sales Territories

Computer sales in Japan are expanding. You just hired a computer systems sales expert to assist your primary salesperson.

Steps:

1. You plan to add an overlay territory to your Japan territory for the new salesperson.

    

   Starting from the Fusion Home page, navigate to the Territories and Quotas work area.

   Step 1

2. Click the Navigator link.

   Step 2

3. Click the Territories and Quotas link.

   Step 3

4. Create a new territory proposal to add the new territory. The overlay territory will overlap your prime territory for Japan.

    

   Click the Manage Territory Proposals link.

   Step 4

5. Click the Create button.

   Step 5

6. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter

    a valid value
    e.g.
    "Japan Computer Systems"
   .
   Step 6

7. Set your activation date to the following Monday, when your new salesperson is ready to start selling.

    

   Enter the desired information into the Select Date field. Enter

    a valid value
    e.g.
    "8/6/2012"
   .
   Step 7

8. Click the Save and View button.

   Step 8

9. Make your new overlay territory a child of the existing Japan territory.

    

   Click the Japan object.

   Step 9

10. Click the Create child of selected territory button.

    Step 10

11. Enter the desired information into the Territory Name field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "Japan Computer Systems"
    .
    Step 11

12. Select your new salesperson as the territory owner.

     

    Click the Search: Owner link.

    Step 12

13. Click the Lisa Ryan list item.

    Step 13

14. Click in the Type field.

    Step 14

15. Click the Overlay list item.

    Step 15

16. Click the Save and Close button.

    Step 16

17. Click the Coverages tab.

    Step 17

18. The coverage for your new territory matches the coverage of the parent.

     

    Click the Edit button.

19. Click the Dimensions list.

    Step 19

20. Click the Product list item.

    Step 20

21. The product Computer Systems is in the Vision Catalog.

     

    Click the Computer Systems tree item.

    Step 21

22. Click the Add button.

    Step 22

23. Click the Save and Close button.

24. Activate your proposal and the territories become active on the activation date.

     

    Click the Activate button.

    Step 24

25. You can cancel the activation and edit or delete your proposal.

     

    Click the Done button.

26. The status of the proposal changes from draft to pending activation until the activation date.
