Downloading the Contract Terms for Editing in Word 2007


This demonstration shows how you can download contract terms from the application into a file that can be edited in Word 2007.

 

This is the first in a series of related demonstrations that show how to edit contract terms outside the application and then how to import the edits back in.


Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Contract Terms tab in the contract.

  2. Before you download, you may want to check to see if the contract terms are up to date.

    Step 2

  3. For contracts with the Contract Expert Last Run indicator, run Contract Expert to ensure you have all the latest clauses.

    Step 3

  4. Contract Expert was run recently on this contract, so there is no need to run it again.

    Step 4

  5. Contracts you are downloading should have zero pending variables. This means that all variables have values.

    Step 5

  6. You are now ready to download the contract terms into a file.

     

    Select the Download Contract action from the Actions menu.

  7. Click the Download Contract list item.

  8. If you want to update the contract terms in the application automatically when you upload the file, then you must save in the Word 2007 file format.

     

    Click the Word 2007 option.

  9. The Lock contract terms until upload option prevents the contract terms in the application from being edited until you upload the file with your edits.

  10. Click the Download button.

  11. Save the file to a local drive.

     

    Click the Save button.

  12. Click the Save button.
