In this demonstration you will learn how to create a contract terms template.
Steps:
Click the Create Terms Template link.
Step 1Select the business unit where the template will be available.
Step 2Click the Vision Operations list item.
Step 3Enter a unique name.
Step 4Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter
This template is for customer contracts, so select Sell as the Intent.
Step 6Click the Sell list item.
Step 7You cannot change the business unit or intent after you first save the template.
Step 8The layout template you select here enables contract authors to preview the contract terms when they are selecting templates.
Step 9Select the layout template.
Step 10
Click the ContractTerms1 list item.
Step 11Optionally, specify the language of your template.
Step 12Scroll down.
Step 13Click the American English list item.
Step 14For this template, you will be using Contract Expert rules to add additional clauses if the contract requires it, so you must enable Contract Expert.
Step 15Click the Enable option.
Step 16Enter the default section where Contract Expert will insert any additional clauses. Contract Expert uses this section only if there is no section specified in the clause itself.
Step 17You can select the section name or simply type it in.
Step 18Enter the desired information into the Default Section field. Enter "Commitments".
Step 19You can make any clauses inserted by Contract Expert mandatory. That way only contract authors with special privileges can delete them.
Step 20Here is where you specify what contract types will use this template.
Before you do, you must save the template.
Step 21Click the Save button.
Step 22The Document Types toolbar is now enabled.
Step 23Click the Add button.
Step 24Click the Document Type list.
Step 25Click the Software License and Service Agreement list item.
Step 26Select the Default option to automatically apply this template to every new contract of this type. Contract Expert rules can override this default.
Step 27Click the Default option.
Step 28Now add the contract terms.
Click the Clauses tab.
Step 29The toolbar buttons on the Clauses tab are disabled. You must add at least one section before you can add clauses.
Step 30Click the Actions menu.
Step 31Click the Add Section list item.
Step 32You can add an existing section from the library or create a new section.
Step 33To add a section from the library, you can either select one from the list or type it in.
Step 34Enter the desired information into the New Section field. Enter "Term of Agreement".
Step 35Click the OK button.
Step 36You are now ready to add clauses to this section.
Step 37Click the Add Clause button.
Step 38The first clause in this section is the Term of Agreement clause.
Step 39Search for the clause. You can use the percent sign to represent missing characters.
Enter the desired information into the Title field. Enter

Step 41If you do not find the clause you need, you can create a new one. The creation of a clause from a template is covered in a related demonstration.
Step 42Select the clause.
Step 43Click the OK button.
Step 44You must expand the section before you can see the clause you inserted.
Step 45Click the Expand button.
Step 46Refresh the preview to see your edits.
Step 47Click the Refresh button.
Step 48Now add the remaining sections and clauses into the template.
Step 49After you have added all the terms and conditions to the template, you are ready to submit it for approval.
Click the Submit button.
Step 50Submitting your template automatically triggers validation. If your template passes without errors, click Submit again.

Step 52The template is now in the Pending approval status. It becomes active and available for use after it is approved.
