Category Security Release Phase Resolved Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 Bug Id 6224433, 6224438 Date of Resolved Release 13-JUN-2005 Impact A vulnerability in the Java Runtime Environment may allow an untrusted applet to elevate its privileges. For example, an applet may grant itself permissions to read and write local files or execute local applications that are accessible to the user running the untrusted applet. Note: J2SE 1.3.1_xx releases for Windows, Solaris and Linux are not affected. To determine the version of Java on a system, the following command can be run: % java -fullversion java full version "1.5.0_02-b09"
