Oracle FMW MapViewer 11.1.1.7.2 Release Notes

New and changed features since MapViewer 11.1.1.7.1 ===============

- A new GeoCoding API has been added to the V2 (HTML5) API that works with
  the geocoding services provied through maps.oracle.com
- The heat map style in V2 API has been greatly improved to provide better
  looking results; also added better support for metric-based heatmap
- Map Data Server (MDS) access restrictions can now be configured in the main 
  MapViewer config file (mapViewerConfig.xml).
  If you have an existing mds.xml, you can simply copy the <mds_config> element
  and paste it inside the mapViewerConfig.xml (before its last end tag).
  Note that mds.xml shuld be removed if you use mapViewerConfig.xml 
- A greatly enhanced red-lining tool with better support of geometry editing
  and transformation; also supports free-hand drawing
- Display georss, kml or geoJSON data by simply dragging and dropping the data URL
  onto the V2 map. 
- Enhanced polygon and polyline labeling, as well as line-end arrows in V2 API.
- Added "LocationBox" tile layer support in V2 API.
- The Admin Console now supports creating native MapViewer tile layer based on
  well known templates with zoom levels defined the same as Google/Bing maps
  or Oracle's hosted eLocation maps.
- MapViewer themes can now consume external WMTS services using REST encoding

Install and other notes   ============================================

Please make sure to backup your existing application files and MapViewer configuration files.

For upgrade, just un-deploy or delete your existing mapviewer installation,
then deploy the new mapviewer.ear file.

For a fresh install of mapviewer.ear, please consult the User's Guide that comes with the
11.1.1.7 release which still applies to this patch.

To install the MVDEMO samples app, simply unzip its content into a mvdemo.war/
folder, then deploy to the same JEE server where MapViewer is already
deployed. Once deployed, it is accessed through the /mvdemo context path. 

The MVDEMO and Storm sample data sets from 11.1.1.7 release should be used
with the new Quick Start kit or the MVDEMO samples app.
