The Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c System Monitoring Plug-in for Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database is deployed as part of an Enterprise Manager Agent, running on the server on which the TimesTen database resides. The Plug-in provides users the ability to monitor the TimesTen database's availability, performance, configuration, and system information. Configuration information and performance statistics are captured at user-defined intervals. The captured information are periodically uploaded and stored in the Oracle Enterprise Manager repository database. Users can monitor the information with the built-in screens, or generate reports using the flexible Enterprise Manager report wizard.
The TimesTen plug-in captures TimesTen database configuration information and collects performance metrics for key areas including: cache, checkpoints, connections, locks, memory, replication, transactions, and workloads. The captured information is presented in various formats including:
- Performance data in absolute values, performance rates, and time series graphs
- Built-in charts showing combinations of times series graphs for comparing performance periods
- Tabular results showing the current and historic values for analysis
The TimesTen plug-in home page provides a high-level summary of the database activities, the status of the database and the current configuration. There is also a performance overview available with information such as the number of connections, memory allocation, an overview of the current database usage and available disk space on the file system. There is also real-time monitoring of the SQL command cache showing the Executed Statements.
The TimesTen plug-in provides the user the ability to perform real-time performance analysis and to identify the cause of any performance issues through the Performance Page, which is divided in seven sections: Connections, Statements, Workload, Commits and Rollbacks, Locks, Transaction Logs and Checkpoints.
Overall Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c System Monitoring Plug-in for Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database provides a general overview of TimesTen systems in the entire enterprise. This enables administrators to monitor and manage all Oracle software components from a central place. Having such an integrated tool reduces the total cost of ownership by eliminating the need to manually compile critical information from several different tools, thus streamlining the correlation of availability and performance problems across the entire set of IT components.
The TimesTen Plug-in is free of charge for customers with TimesTen product license.
