Selecting Elements on a Diagram

Elements can be selected on a diagram individually, in groups or within a defined area.

To select all elements on the active diagram:

• Choose Edit Select All.
  
  OR

• Press Ctrl+A.
  
  Note: You can deselect individual elements by holding down Ctrl and clicking on them.

To select specific diagram elements on the active diagram:

1. Click the Pointer icon on the component palette.

2. Press and hold down the Ctrl key, then click the elements on the diagram surface that you want to select.
   

To select all elements in a given area of the active diagram:

1. Click the Pointer icon on the component palette.

2. Position the pointer at the corner of the area on the diagram in which you want to select the elements, then press and hold down the mouse button.

3. Drag the mouse over the required area and release the mouse button. This procedure selects all elements wholly within the selected area.
   

To deselect a selected element in a group of selected elements:

1. Click the Pointer icon on the component palette.

2. Press and hold down the Ctrl key.

3. Click the element, or elements, on the diagram that you want to deselect.
