Creating Nodes on a Diagram
Nodes are created in a similar way on all diagrams.
To create a node on a diagram:
-
Select the node type you want to create from those listed in the
appropriate Component Palette for the diagram.
-
Click the diagram where you want to create the node. This creates the
node at its default size.
OR
Click and hold down the mouse
button where you want to place one of the corners of the node on the
diagram and drag the node outline to the opposite node corner and
release the mouse button.
Note: The size (height
and/or width) of a node can be changed to accommodate either the
number of entries on the node or the longest property on the node. For
more information, see
Optimizing the Size of Nodes on a Diagram.
-
Enter the name for the node when the default element name is
highlighted on the new node.
OR
Complete the wizard for the
element that is being created.
Note: To add
properties to nodes on a diagram you can double-click the node or
right-click the node and choose Properties
then add the properties using a dialog or editor, or create the
property on the diagram using in-place creation. For more information,
see In-Place Creating and
Editing on Diagram Elements.
Nodes for certain elements can also be created inside other nodes. For
more information, see
Creating Internal Nodes on a Diagram.
