About Offline Schemas

JDeveloper works with offline table definitions in the context of offline schemas that act as containers in a similar way to packages. The default name of a schema may be the same as the default name of a package, but in the Applications Navigator, they are distinguished by having different icons. An example of this is shown below.

In this case, a Java class and a database diagram have been created in the package mypackage, which is under the Application Sources node, and two tables have been imported from a database to an offline schema called MYPACKAGE, which is under the Database Objects node.

The illustration below shows the same workspace as the illustration above, but this time in the System Navigator.

In the System Navigator, offline schemas and packages are shown as different nodes. In this case, the Java class and diagram are in the package mypackage, and the offline tables and the offline schema are in a folder called MYPACKAGE, the same name as the schema.
