Generating a UIX XML Page Based on a UIX XML Template (UIT)

This procedure helps you to create a UIX XML page using a UIX XML template (UIT) that has the following header, footer, and navigation elements:

Important: When generating UIX XML pages based on a UIT, JDeveloper looks for specific structure and content within the UIT file. You must first create the UIT with the UIX XML Template (UIT) with Header, Footer, Navigation Wizard and then use the following procedure to create all the UIX XML pages based on your template.

To generate a UIX XML page using a UIX XML template (UIT):

  1. In the Application Navigator, select the project in which you want to create the UIX XML application.
  2. Choose File | New to open the New Gallery.
  3. In the Categories tree, expand Web Tier and select ADF UIX.

If Web Tier is not visible in the Categories tree, select All Technologies in the Filter by dropdown list.

  4. In the Items list, double-click UIX XML Page Based on Existing UIX XML Template (UIT).

The Create wizard appears. For detailed help about any of the steps, press F1 or click Help from within the wizard.

  5. Follow the steps on each wizard page, and click Finish when you are done.

When you finish, your project contains a basic UIX XML file with the file name and elements from the template on which it was based. Repeat the procedure to create additional pages based on the template. You can customize the generated UIX XML files using the UIX Visual Editor or the schema-driven XML Editor.

For complete information on how templates are used in UIX XML pages, refer to the ADF UIX Developer's Guide.
