Working with Relationships Between CMP EJBs and Regular Java Objects

With the TopLink Mapping editor, you can create relationships between CMP EJBs and regular Java objects. These relationships are dependent (privately owned) and are normally used to model fine-grained objects.

You can create the following relationships using a CMP EJB as the source and a Java object as the source:

One-to-one (1:1) - See "Working with One-to-One Mappings" .
One-to-many (1:M) - See "Working with One-to-Many Mappings" .
Direct collection - See "Working with Direct Collection Mappings" .
Note: For direct collections, the target Java object must be a base data type such as String or Date.
Aggregate object - See "Working with Aggregate Mappings" .
Variable one-to-one - See "Working with Variable One-to-One Mappings" .
