About OC4J

Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J) is a program that allows J2EE applications to run on the Oracle Application Server. OC4J provides a lightweight, easy to use, high performance J2EE environment. The J2EE facilities provided by OC4J include an Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) container, a Java Servlet container, and a JavaServer Pages translator and runtime (OJSP).

A standalone version of OC4J is included in the JDeveloper installation, and a minimal version is embedded in JDeveloper, giving three ways to run J2EE applications in an OC4J environment:

Documentation about Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J), and other Oracle technology, is available online from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/.
