Board Meeting - Configuration File |

Steve: Well, I understood very well about all the types of feeds. Thank you for showing me some sample feeds too. Now, how do I setup SES to crawl my feeds. I mean, how do I expose my feed details to SES to crawl my feeds, be it, directory or control feeds? Just help me keep the data ready now, and later you can actually show us how to crawl our XML feeds using SES. Does this make sense? Timothy: Of course, Steve. You are a very quick learner!! Let me first tell you that we need to place our data feeds at a location that is accessible to SES over the following protocols : HTTP(S), FTP, and File protocols. A configuration file containing information such as feed location, feed type, and so on, should be generated. Steve: What is this configuration file? How does it look? Timothy: I have some sample configuration files in my laptop, and also I have a word document that provides details about the tags that are used in the configuration file. Also, it is very important to note that the configuration file for a XML source should be an XML file conformant with the schema. I can provide you the schema as well. Click here to view the sample configuration files with different protocols from Timothy's laptop. Click here to view the description of each tag of the configuration file. Click here to view the schema for the configuration file.
