Determining Indexing of Data |
||||
Philip emphasizes the point about Indexing to Timothy before he proceeds forward. He says that he has to determine what parts of data need to be indexed. If an application or datasource is provided, there may be some parts that should be indexed by SES, and some parts, which should not either because the information is not appropriate or useful for indexing, or because its temporary or transient in nature. If a user is indexing an email system, perhaps he/she may not want to index information in Trash folders. Similarly, if a user is indexing an application, he has to be sure whether
he wants to index the menu structure of the application in order to aid
navigation to particular points in the application, or if he/she is only
interested in indexing the actual information stored in the system.
