Defining URL for the Target Document

Previous previous|next Next Page

One of the most important tasks that Timothy has to accomplish before designing the plug-in is to define a URL for the target document.

An HTTP URL can be generated by the Web interface application provided by the repository vendor or a URL pointing to an Enterprise application that people get on the search hit. This is called the Display URL, which is used by the end users. The display URL must be unique within a data source. Along with this, plug-in also needs to be able to access content, which is otherwise called an Access URL.

For the employee directory information, Timothy provides a display URL.

Display URL:
http://<hostname>:<HTTP server port>/oiddas/ui/oracle/ldap/das/pages/UserSearch?event=search&attribute.value=

Thus Timothy defines the URLs required for the target document.
