Jodie first installs Oracle Secure Enterprise Search server on the Linux
platform. She first lists some of the pre-installation tasks to her users:
Pre-installation Tasks
- Create an operating system group called dba.
- Create an operating system user account (such as oracle)
that will be used to install the software.
- Assign the oracle user account to the dba
group.
- See the product documentation for recommended kernel parameter values.
Ensure the recommended values are set in the /etc/sysctl.conf
file.
- Verify that ORACLE_HOME environment variable is not
set.
