Enabling the Image Document Service Connector
The Royal Healthcare Center has a huge repository of DICOM medical images. They also have hospital brochures that include other types of images such as JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and JPEG 2000 images. Specialists, and the hospital staff would want to search for images and additional information about the images, so that they can re-build and re-use images. Being the regular users of Oracle Secure Enterprise Search, they want to search for all the types of images in their repository.
Jodie studies the requirement and decides to enable the Image Document Service Connector that is available with Oracle SES 10.1.8.4. This plug-in integrates Oracle Multimedia (formerly Oracle interMedia) with Oracle SES, supporting searching EXIF, IPTC, XMP and DICOM image metadata in JPEG, GIF, TIFF, JPEG 2000 and DICOM images.
