Managing Sources
With her first search source defined, Jodie is about to take a quick break when her manager came into her office and gave her a list of additional sources to add:
- Engineers would like to locate technical reports on the World Wide Web Consortium site.
- The Legal department would like to search e-mail as well as data in the Human Resources database.
- Curriculum Developers would like to locate dynamically generated pages on the curriculum web site.
After creating these sources, Jodie decides that she needs to gather requirements and feedback from departmental representatives on a regular basis so that she can proactively serve her users. With her manager's support, Jodie forms the iVision Information Search committee, which meets on a quarterly basis.
