Self-service Authentication

Instead of the administrator entering the authentication credentials at the time the source is created, self-service authentication allows the user to enter the credentials. The administrator creates a self-service (template) source, defining the source type, location, and so on, but omitting the credentials. From the search application, the user can subscribe to the self-service source and enters the login credentials in an input form.
