This comprehensive, predefined data model greatly reduces the time and effort required to implement a retail business intelligence system.

But no matter how comprehensive a predefined data model might be, it cannot possibly predict the unique business rules and specific reporting requirements of a given retail business. There will always be a (hopefully small) gap for the ORDM implementation team to close.

Therefore, consultant Tom's first task in integrating ORDM into MeddWebb is to perform a Business Requirement Study and Gap Analysis.
