Course Overview

Purpose

In this self-study tutorial, Oracle Retail Data Model (ORDM) implementors are introduced to the ORDM product and the architecture of the ORDM data models and product stack. Tutorial text and diagrams introduce concepts and specific ORDM implementation procedures. Movies created with Macromedia Captivate provide interactive simulations of the tools used to customize ORDM.

Describe the business scenario for using ORDM
Understand the ORDM product planform architecture and data models
Identify the supported business areas and typical problems addressed by ORDM
List typical ORDM customization tasks
Describe the content and purpose of each of the ORDM models
Locate the prepackaged ETL scripts and mappings for modification
Describe the components of the BI EE reporting repository that may need modification
Explain the workflow of tasks for five typical ODWR customization scenarios for relational and data mining environments
Use SQL Developer and other editors to customize schemas and scripts
Use BI EE Administrator to customize predefined dashboards and reports

Use BI EE Administrator to manage end-user access to dashboards

Methodology

This tutorial uses a scenario to understand the role of ORDM technology in solving business problems.

When applicable, examples, quizzes, and other interactions are used to explain the ORDM concepts.
