Forecasting Methods
OCDM OLAP forecast data using the Geneva Forecasting engine which is a statistical forecasting engine from RoadmapTechnologies that is used extensively in demand planning applications. 4 forecasting methods are available by default to the OLAP Cubes:
- Moving average
- Polynomial Trend
- Exponential growth
- Holt-Winter method (seasonal behaviour)
Addtionally, "Auto approach" is the default approach which invokes the Geneva forecasting expert system. It tests all the possible forecasting methods and options for these methods and chooses automatically the one that best fits the data.
