UPK 12.1 offers the ability to create Print Areas. These Print Areas are very similar to action areas in how they are created and edited. The purpose of the Print Area is to allow authors to control what area of the screen will appear as an image in each step of a document output.
Steps:
Create a new Print Area by right clicking on the screenshot (not on the bubble or action area.)
Step 1
Click the Create Print Area menu.
Step 2A Print Area is created. Let's resize it to include an area surrounding the action area.
Step 3We have resized the Print Area so that it includes an area around the action area. Next, we'll look at the results in a published Job Aid.
Step 4The default image used for each step is the action area. In environments where all action areas look similar, an image of the action area may not be unique enough to convey where on the screen the action occurs.
Step 5Notice the Print Area is used for the step image instead of the action area. This can provide the end user with a better sense for where on the screen the action occurs, providing a much more meaningful experience.
Step 6You can see how the new Print Areas provide authors much more control over the images included in the steps of a document output. Print Areas are a very powerful feature for creating invaluable document outputs.
