SmartHelp configuration
Go to step 27
7.
You can use the IAS Configuration Utility to configure the
Player for either help menu integration or SmartHelp.
Only targeted applications that have been recorded and
published to a Player will appear in the Applications Options list.
Click the PeopleSoft Enterprise
link.

8.
Displayed are options to configure a gateway page. A
gateway page is a tabbed, html page that appears when the integrated help
link is used and multiple sources of help are configured.
Additional sources of help might include the original help
for the target application, additional Player packages or a URL to a web
site.
9.
The first tab on the gateway page is the UPK Player.
The Default Player Tab Text field is an editable field that can be
changed to a custom name.
10.
If you want to include additional resources on your gateway
page (which appear as separate tabs), you can choose a type for the Type
drop-down list.
Click here for an explanation of each type.
11.
The Tab Text field allows you to enter a name for
each tab in the gateway page.
12.
The URL field can be configured with an Internet or
intranet site location.
13.
Additional tabs can be configured by clicking the Add
button.
14.
We have scrolled down in the IAS Configuration Utility
window to view the rest of the options.
The Remember Active Tab option will place a cookie
on the end-user's browser to remember the last tab accessed.
15.
You can use hyperlinks to launch additional sources of
help. These hyperlinks appear under their own tab inside the
gateway.
The Link Menu Text field allows you to add a custom
name to this tab.
16.
The fields under the Links section allows you to specify
the Type of link, Link Text and URL.
Some help sources are not capable of being embedded into a
gateway page and must be hyperlinked. One such example of this is
PeopleBooks.
17.
The options under the Configure Multi-Language Content
section allow you to configure help to launch the appropriate content you may
have developed in multiple languages.
This feature is only available for certain target
applications.
18.
If you are using multiple languages, a separate Player
needs to be published for each language.
You would specify the location of each Player in the URL
field.
19.
Additional languages can be configured by clicking the Add
button.
20.
The Outline Display section configures the default option
for the Player to show content.
This configuration shows Applicable content in the Player
by default.
21.
Click the Save link.

22.
A confirmation page appears when the configuration is
saved.

Navigate to the location where the Player has been
published and open the PlayerPackage folder.
Scroll down and locate the inappconfig.cmd file.
Note: If using FireFox, locate the inappconfig_ff.cmd file.
Click the vertical
scrollbar.
25.
Double-click the inappconfig.cmd
list item.

Go to step 7
26.
To launch the IAS Configuration Utility from a URL, the
published content must be placed on a web server that is accessible from a
browser.
Below is an example URL if using Internet Explorer:
http://<server>/<directory>/inappconfig.html
Below is an example URL if using Firefox:
http://<server>/<directory>/inappconfig_ff.html
Go to step 7
27.
Click the SmartHelp
link.

28.
You will find under the Content URL's section a list of
target applications recorded.
This is to ensure that the correct application scripts are
used when using SmartHelp to launch content in a context sensitive manner for
each target application.
29.
No additional configuration is necessary unless the
appropriate content is located on a different server.
In this case, the url to the content must be configured.
30.
If additional Player locations must be configured, click
the Add button.
Click the Save button to save the configuration.
31.
A confirmation page appears at the end of the
configuration.
