We are looking to improving Shoal's Distributed Cache in the next
version 2.0.

We can certainly look into that with additional help from community
contributions.
At the moment we don't have any work ongoing specific to eh-cache as
with limited resources we have to prioritize to meet GlassFish and
Sailfin requirements while also looking to address issues reported by
community. We are actively looking for community contributions in these
areas. Do you have specifics you can share in terms of what you are
looking for ?

It is the backbone for clustering in Sailfin 1.0 (upcoming release in
Jan) and GlassFish v2.1 (upcoming release in Jan as well).
The recently released GlassFish v3 prelude does not have any clustering
capabilities.
Clustering support is being planned as an early access feature for the
upcoming June release wherein we will have a subsequent version of Shoal
incorporated.
Let us know of your detailed requirements and we can include it into our
roadmap.
