Hello Thiago
Take a look at the rungmsdemo.sh (or .bat) script to see how the
ApplicationServer example is run with system properties.
The script is located at under shoal/gms directory
Here is the cvs browse link for it :
https://shoal.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/shoal/gms/rungmsdemo.sh?content-type=text%2Fplain&rev=1.1.1.1

On the performance topic, Shoal is still in early development stage and
we have not yet focused on performance. That said your comments and
feedback on this would be greatly helpful for us. So please do share
your observations.
Also please send us any questions you may have.
regards
Shreedhar
