In principle i have no issue with this. They are there to encourage
discussion in this area, based on an implemented and tested design to
see if such an approach can add value to this JSR for greater interop
for developers (i.e. it makes our job harder so that it is easier for
the developer).

In previous threads we have recognized in passing on more that one
occasion the value of a streaming SPI and we appear to have some
consensus that this is a useful concept.

But, I think Dhanji expressed things best saying:

"In any case, I think the spi is a conversation we should be having MUCH
later. The application contract (the framework) and common use scenarios
need to be worked out clearly first."
