Yes, it was just released, and anyone interested in new features
(there are some really cool things in there, like "mr Bean" and Smile
binary format) can have a look at announcement

It may take a while for Jersey to upgrade (it is good to be based on
known stable versions), but 1.6.0 should be plug-in replacement over
1.5.x. So users should be able to just replace jars or overriden maven
dependencies for their systems to take advantage of new features if
they so choose.
