We have currently placed this in the experimental section so we can
easily make breaking changes to the API while allowing developers
better access to earlier developments if they wish to play and provide
feedback [*]. Experimental modules will never be shipped with a stable
release.
There is still a lot of work to be done but Jan and I think the basic
concept is workable for others to experiment as well.

[*] Note that as mentioned in the blog the java.net repo is down so
unfortunately it is necessary to build Jersey yourself at the moment
to get access new developments.
