I am slightly off topic here, but cannot resist :-)

I think the underlying core issue is that it is hard to create
profiles of the JDK/Java because it cannot be easily modularized on a
technical level and also for registration/agreement of a profile for
interoperability. I believe there are motions to improve this
situation like Project Jigsaw.
