We ( Nortel ) are using JAXB ( 1.0 ) in our shipping product.
We use it as part of our "Itelligent Traffic Management" Application.
I am lurking here to see if/when I should start migrating to 2.0 :-)
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents to raise the comfort level.

JAXB is used in many Sun projects.

For example, JAXR RI is using JAXB. Application Server is using JAXB to
read configuration files in migration tools. I've heard from AppServer
container managed persistence team that they are using it, too. Another
team in Sun is working on the Web services extension of JMX. They are
using JAXB. There's a internal benchmark framework, and they are using
JAXB, too. The identity server team has also been using JAXB. The XML
Web Services security team is also interested in moving to JAXB, so we
are talking with them, too.

Those are the teams that I can think of off the top of my head. If I go
through the e-mails I'm sure I'll find more internal teams.
