Well, we still have yet to see the JAXB 2.0 reference impl see the light of
day, right? There is still hope that 5.0 JDKs will be available everywhere
by the time JAXB + JAX-RPC 2.0 both drop.

I may be naïve to hope, though. :)

Please consider those poor unfortunates who need to run cross-platform.
Until Mac releases 5, we are at a disadvantage.

In fact it's been long decided that JAXB 2.0 will *require* J2SE 5.0.

For example, the entire java -> schema direction is based on metadata.
