I just think there's too much complexity involved in your proposal.
I think better long-term approach is to eliminate the need for the
wrapping altogether.
It just makes things simpler.

That's good to know. Also, for a short workaround, we could expose a
mechanism for a custom List imp to notify the JAXB-generated bean when
it is changed.
