JAX-WS 2.1.1 RC1 samples are tested to work fine on tomcat and GF v2.
 From your log it appears that you are running the samples using JDK6.
Are you running tomcat 5.5 also on JDK6? If not the deployment will fail
due to UnsupportedClassVersionError. Check the tomcat log.
