Hi,
I've written a small plug-in that brings back DIME support to jax-ws. I
know DIME was replaced by MTOM long ago, but there is a use case where I
wanted to use it nevertheless:
In my company we still use MS Office 2003 and this version only supports
MS Soap Toolkit 3.0 out of the box. For binary attachments, this
framework only supports DIME.
Sure, I could use .Net with MTOM support instead. But using .Net with
Office 2003 isn't that simple. It involves installing extra stuff, which
isn't always possible without admin rights.
Therefore, I wrote this plug-in that can send and receive DIME messages
from a MS Word VBA macro and I am willing to share the code with others
who find it useful.
So what do you think? Is it worth being hosted on jax-ws-commons? What
would be the next steps? Do you want to review the code first?
Best Regards,
Oliver
