There's nothing in it that makes it Sun VM only, and I believe some
folks are using it with WebSphere indeed.

If anything, I believe WebSphere wasn't supported by IBM on Java 5 JVM
until recently, and JAX-WS does require 5.0. So maybe the commenter is
refering to that?
