Interesting idea, although I'm worried about the increased complexity of the runtime matching algorithm and reduced performance as a result. Also the interaction between a named binding and path annotation is not clear to me. Perhaps we first need to think about it and explore? Feel free to file an issue, but I would not consider it to be a high priority for 2.0 at the moment.
