Thanks Doug. For the current project, we have moved to Axis, because
base64Binary types work there.

We had to live without several useful JWSDP features, such as the ability to
write our own WSDL files, custom exceptions, etc, but these were not as
crucial as the base64Binary type!

Puny, the next release of the JWSDP is being moved to a later date. When
that will be has not yet been determined. In the mean time if you might be
able to seek additional help from: http://www.sun.com/developers/support/.

When is the next release of JWSDP?
Could you suggest a work-around?

We're trying to come up with a way of sending an arbitrary XML document back
and forth from a .NET client to a JAX-RPC web service ...

Puny, you have rediscovered a bug that we have already fixed. The next
release of JWSDP will have this fix incoporated.
