There *is* a way to do that. I don't understand what your concern is.

With my fix to your 2997 you can abandon a flow without going through a
flow-return node simply by navigating (either implicitly or explicitly)
to a view outside of the flow. Isn't this what you're requesting?

Please advise. There must be something I'm missing.
